A development team at Ocean Guardian, based in Sydney, Australia has created the world’s first handheld shark deterrent aptly named eSPEAR. The new handheld shark deterrent is powered by Shark Shield Technology, the world’s only scientifically proven and independently tested electrical shark deterrent technology says Ocean Guardian.
eSPEAR offers powerful and proven shark protection that doesn’t harm sharks or other marine life providing users with peace of mind to enjoy the water. “Small, lightweight, easy to carry, and backed by 20 years of research; it’s perfect for diving, spearfishing snorkeling. Simply attach to the dive belt with the holster or to your swimsuit go!” watch the demonstration video below to learn more about the eSPEAR.
eSPEAR has launched via Indiegogo this month and is now available to back with pledges starting from $165 offering a 45% saving off the recommended retail price of $299.
“Government approved and developed over two decades of research, our patented technology creates a powerful three-dimensional electrical field which causes safe but unbearable spasms in shark’s short-range electrical receptors, turning sharks away – including Great Whites. Nothing is more effective. Our existing products are primarily used for surfing, diving and kayak fishing, and for years we’ve been asked to bring a convenient handheld device to market. We are so excited to finally bring that product – the eSPEAR – to fruition!”
